Position Summary
As a member of the Conservation Programs team and Beijing Office team, the incumbent is expected to develop and implement strategies and projects of National Park Development Program under guidance of the Chief Conservation Officer (CCO), conduct research on issues related to national park development in China, manage project contracts with the external partners, prepare high quality internal and external written materials, organize field visits, support events and meetings, as well as support CCO as requested.
Responsibilities
- Work with CCO in developing PI’s National Park strategies and projects in China with Chinese and international partner organizations.
- Manage National Park projects and partners, including drafting project contracts, monitoring project progress, tracking project payment, and reviewing project reports, etc.
- Prepare for and escort the field visits of the leaders and donors of the institute.
- Prepare internal and external written communication materials related to National Park program.
- Perform other duties designated by the Chief Conservation Officer as needed.
Ideal Profile
- Masters or PhD Degree in conservation ecology, environmental management and sciences, natural resource management, landscape planning or other conservation relevant majors.
- At least three years of working experience in a middle level position in conservation organizations, relevant government agencies or academic institutions.
- Ability to work across borders in different cultures effectively and to travel frequently.
- Strong communications, coordination and organizational skills.
- Native Chinese speaker and fluent in both spoken and written English. Great at English speaking and interpretation between Chinese and English is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in the project sites.
- Chinese citizen. Advanced degree from overseas is desirable.
